Superfly Presents, the organization behind the Bonnaroo music and arts festival, is branching out to Brooklyn to bring a new food, drink and music festival to Prospect Park.
The Great GoogaMooga will feature over 75 food vendors, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers and 20 live performances over two days from May 19-20. General admission to the festival will be free, though registration will be required to obtain a ticket. The festival also will be offering an all-inclusive “Extra Mooga” experience with a separate, $249 ticket, which will feature demos and theme parties as well as showcases and performances by television chef Anthony Bourdain, comedian Aziz Ansari, and a DJ set by former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy. The fest creators brought in a number of luminaries of the hospitality industry to help curate the atmosphere, including Bourdain, David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group, Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster Garrett Oliver, and other members of New York’s culinary scene to help create a loose, laid-back, and playful atmosphere. A few of the many restaurants and vendors that will be featured at the festival include BaoHaus, Roberta’s, Blue Ribbon, Red Rooster, Cookin’ With Coolio, The Spotted Pig, the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop, Do or Dine, The Meat Hook, and many more.
